How to use this tracker
Built for buyers, primes, suppliers and small businesses working in federal logistics and supply chain.
- Size the market. Use the spending by industry code chart to see how much the government spends on the work you do, and which agencies spend it.
- Find recompetes early. Sort the expiring-contracts table by end date or filter by agency. A contract ending in 6 to 12 months is often re-solicited before it ends.
- Know the incumbents. The top recipients chart and each award's USAspending link show who holds the work today and how large their contracts are.
Always confirm details on the official notice or award record before acting. This tracker summarizes public data and is not an official government source.
Sources & methods
- Spending data
- USAspending.gov public API (api.usaspending.gov), U.S. Department of the Treasury. Pulled October 20, 2026, 11:12 a.m. CT (2026-10-20 16:12 UTC).
- Window
- Award actions 2025-10-20 to 2026-10-20 (action date). Contract award types A–D only. Amounts are obligations reported in that window.
- Industry codes (NAICS)
- 541614, 541611, 541618, 541690, 488510, 493110, 4841, 4842.
- Expiring contracts
- Contracts with activity in the window whose current period-of-performance end date falls 2026-10-20 to 2027-10-20, from the top 4,000 of 21,906 contracts by award amount.

- Known limits
- One award skews the total. AMI Metals, Inc.'s $2.02B (11.5% of the total) is a single DHS / U.S. Customs and Border Protection award, 70B01C26C00000006 ("BULK STEEL FOR SOUTHWEST BORDER BARRIER CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS"), a bulk-steel buy for border-barrier construction coded under NAICS 541614 (logistics consulting). It is not typical logistics-services spending and it moves DHS to the #1 agency. Totals are shown with and without it; charts include it.
- Expiring count is a floor. 1,857 expiring contracts were found among the top 4,000 of 21,906 contracts by award amount with activity in the window. The remaining contracts were not scanned, so the true count is higher.
- Fiscal months. Monthly figures use federal fiscal months (FY M1 = October); the first and last months are partial.
- DoD reporting lag. Recent months may be incomplete: Department of Defense contract data posts to USAspending about 90 days late.
- NAICS 484 is covered through its 4-digit parts 4841 and 4842 (the API accepts only 2/4/6-digit codes).
